New Features |
| Telnet Option |
Besides Com port connectivity to the Pick host, now telnet through your network is an option.
This means that networked Pick hosts do not have to use a serial cable to connect to the PC dialing
the Internet. This method is much faster also.
|
| PicLan Support |
Telnet capability is added to this release. This means no serial cable is required to connect
to the Pick host (if you have a network). This results in performance increases.
|
| Unix Host Support |
Using the new telnet capability and your network, no serial cable is needed to connect to your Unix multivalue host. |
| Win NT Host Support |
Using the new telnet capability and your network, no serial cable is needed to connect to your NT multivalue host. |
| Autofetch Enhanced |
The Autofetch background process was rewritten to read its list of mailboxes regularly.
This means you may add and remove users from the fetch list (aflist record) and do not have to restart
this phantom process each time. |
| CPU Saver |
Now you can specify sleep intervals when transferring large amounts of data
over the serial cable. This will free the cpu and increase system performance.
Native Pick implementations will find this helpful.
|
| Autofetch Not Required As Phantom |
You no longer have to make the autofetch program a phantom job. Now it can
run inside the gateway program itself.
