checkcert for Cobalt Raq 4

Checkcert will tell you about your digital certificate installed on your Cobalt Raq 4. Did you want to know when it will expire? Did you wonder what authority issued the certificate? Did you want to see if a certificate matches the private key? This program will tell you. It was designed specifically for the Cobalt Raq environment. This means it knows where virtual sites store these files automatically. All you have to do is tell it the name of the virtual site.

Now I am sure your web browser could tell you some of this information but when telnetted or ssh-ed into your Cobalt server, it sure is nice to have a handy tool such as this one!! It is meant to be run as root and will complain if not root.

View checkcert help Since digital certificates can be confusing when first dealing with them, here's a quick reminder. There are 3 files: a private key, a request for a certificate (CSR) known as a "certificate signing request" and a certificate. The certificate is the one you have to pay for and is issued by a Certificate Authority (CA) such as Thawte or Verisign.
